Yoga and Dosha are terms frequently used in Astrological analysis.
The common misconception is Yoga means good (lucky) and Dosha means bad (Curse)
This is not exactly true and readers should not get unduly worried if some one says that you have a Dosha.
Both the terms are neutral terms and simply indicate a combination of planets.
For example Kemadruma Yoga is one of the worst yogas, causing lonely, unsatisfied and difficult life. Kalasarpa Yoga is another example of an unfavourable yoga.
Vipareetha Raja Yoga is both good and bad. It will take the person up to unbelievable heights and then drop the person from that height.
Many astrologers also overstate the presence of yogas, thus misguiding the readers. For example, Budha-Aditya yoga. If Mercury and Sun are together in a Rasi, it is supposed to create the yoga, assuring the native of intelligence, good education etc.
Unfortunately as Sun and Mercury have almost identical orbits (that is the reason why we cant easily see Mercury, whereas we can see other planets with naked eye), more than 80% of the world population will have Budha-Aditya Yoga. Is this possible?
Readers may do well not to get carried away by the use of the words Yoga and Dosha.

ஜோதிடரிடம் ஆலோசனைக்கு அமரும்போது, அவர் (நியாயமாக) நமது ஜாதகத்தில் இருக்கும் பல யோகங்களை பற்றி சொல்லுவார். நமது ஜாதகம் இவ்வளவு நல்ல ஜாதகமா என்று நமக்கே பெருமிதம் கலந்த சந்தேகம் வரும்.
மிகச் சாதாரணமான ஓருவரது ஜாதகத்தில் 32 யோகங்கள் இருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லும்போது, "சரிதான், இவ்வளவு நாள் நமக்கு கஷ்டம், இனி வரும் நாட்களில் விடிவு காலம்தான்" என்று நினைப்பார். ஆனால் உண்மை அப்படி இருக்காது.
காரணம், யோகமென்றால் அதிருஷ்டம் என்று ஒரு தவறான கருத்து. உண்மையில் யோகம் மற்றும் தோஷம் என்ற இவ்விரு வார்த்தைகளும்,நடுநிலையான வார்த்தைகள்.
உதாரணத்திற்கு கேமத்ரும யோகம் என்பது ஒரு கொடிய யோகம். இந்த யோகம் இருந்தால் தனிமை, கடுமை,கொடுமை.
காலசர்ப்ப யோகம் என்பது மற்றோரு கடுமையான யோகம்.
விபரீத ராஜ யோகம் "க்ராக்ஜேக்" பிஸ்கட் போல இரண்டும் சேர்ந்தது. ஒரு சாதாரணனை மகாராஜா போல ஒரு நொடியில் ஏற்றி , சிறிது காலத்திலேயே கீழே இறங்கிவிடும். முதல் மாடியில் இருந்து விழுந்தால் தப்பிக்கலாம், LIC மாடிக்கு தராதர என்று ஜாதகன் கேட்காமலே இழுத்துக்கொண்டு போய் அங்கே இருந்து விழ வைத்தால் ! (வடிவேலு போல்......நான் சிவனே என்று தானே தரையில் நின்றுகொண்டிருந்தேன்.....என்பார் ஜாதகர்). எல்லாம் அந்த சிவன் படுத்தும் பாடு.
புதாதித்ய யோகம் இருந்தால் நல்ல புத்திக்கூர்மை, அறிவு, கிடைக்கும். புதனும் சூரியனும் சேர்ந்தால் இந்த யோகம்; ஆனால் 80% மக்களுக்கு இந்த இரு கிரகங்களும் சேர்ந்தே இருக்கும், அப்படியென்றால் உலகத்தில் உள்ள 80% மக்கள், புத்திக்கூர்மையுடன், நல்ல படிப்புடன் இருக்கவேண்டுமே !
காலசர்ப்ப தோஷம் என்றால் ஏதோ பெரிய தோஷம் என்று மாத்திரம் சொல்வார்கள். ஆனால் அந்த தோஷம் உள்ளவர்கள் மிகவும் கஷ்டப்பட்டாலும், நல்ல உச்சியையும் அடைவார்கள்.
எனவே யோகம், தோஷம் என்றால் "சேர்க்கை" என்று மாத்திரம் அறிக.
