Kiliyanur is is believed to be the Last of the Padal Petra Sthalam...meaning last of the temples identified to have been sung in praise by the 4 Saivite Greats.
This temple has no Rajagopuram or Dwajasthambam and is easy to miss while on a motorised vehicle.
On the banks of the Varaha River and adjoining a burial site this temple is on the Tindivanam-Pondy highway close to Thailapuram. One has to drive 6-7 kms from the highway to reach the temple.
