Rasi Palan (Predictions based on Rasi) – How dependable are they?
Are they dependable at all ?
It is a common trend, not only in this
decade, but in the past hundred and more years for magazines to carry Rasi
Palan (Phala – means end results) or Rasi based predictions in their magazines.
With media and social media growing phenomenally in the electronic-era, more
and more such predictions are being noticed. Television channels also regularly
feed viewers with daily Rasi based predictions.
How dependable are these predictions ?
Before we dwelve deeper in to this topic,
let us consider the case of twins born in a gap of two minutes from each
other. These twins are bound to have
identical Nakshatra, Pada, Rasi and Navamsa charts unless they are born in
cusps (low proabablity). Only other Divisional charts could vary. In such cases are we not to expect that the
twins will have identical fortunes, looks and behavior ? How often do you see
twins having identical fortunes, even if they look identical ?
Have we not seen cases of one being a male
and other being a female ? Have we not seen twins who are not identical looking
? Look at the life history of the twin Crickets Steve and Mark Waugh. Barring the
similarity in their proficiency in cricket, people say they have nothing in
common….behaviour, style, tastes etc .
If people born in a gap of two minutes will
have different fate, how can people born in a Rasi can have identical fortunes.
Each Rasi covers 2 ¼ stars ….in other
words 1/12th (or 8.34%) of the entire world population will fall
under the same Rasi and hence should have identical fortunes. Can this be true ? Impossible.
In
such an event, are we to conclude that Rasi based predictions are a humbug .
No, not at all.
Truth lies in between. ….
While predictions based on Rasi alone
(including predictions based on planetary transitions or Gochara) can be least
dependable, we should take it as a general trend and not something which
applies verbatim to all the natives of that Rasi.
Then, how to make use of Rasi Phala !
Understand the trend for a given Rasi and
make a deeper analysis for the individual based on the individual’s charts.
For example, if a person falls under Mesha
Rasi (Aries) read the general predictions for a Rasi. Hold on for a while and
read the chart of the individual, holding his Rasi as the focal point (Chandra
Lagna). Assess the strengths and weaknesses of each and every planet,
especially the ones which are transiting at present. Make predictions based on how well a planet
is placed in the chart and re-calibrate the predictions.
If we are reviewing the effect of Jupiter’s transit (Guru Peyarchi),
review how well is the planet Jupiter placed in the native’s chart in relation
to his Rasi or Moon. Make predictions
based on the above.
While you may find the general predictions
given by a Television Astrologer awfully off-the-mark for you, you will find
the same astrologer’s predictions accurate if he is to make Gochara predictions
based on your chart.
Conclusion could be that you cannot take
Rasi Palan or General predictions in magazines and TV channels at face value,
but reposition the general predictions based on one’s personal horoscopic
chart.
(Gochara – Planetary movements…..Go means
planet and Chara means movement)
