"Wink in Disbelief

I winked in disbelief when Google presented me the search results for "Variyaar".

For those of you who are not from the Tamil world, Kripananda Variyaar is a household name, a scholar in Tamil, Sanskrit, Carnatic Music (he could sing, play Veena and Mridangam) and religion.

Phenomenally knowledgeable, he had the knack of presenting even the toughest philosophy in a humorous way that even the common man can understand. 

Taught entirely by his father at home in a real full time basis, on all the said art forms and literature, he has been lecturing from a very young age. Until he walked in to eternity at his 87th year ( great people don't die) he has been presenting religious discourses.  

In the 70s, 80s and 90s he was unarguably the hottest topic of mimicry in all the colleges, for his inimitable humour and singing style.

He offered his entire life time earnings to building/ renovating temples and was a simpleton.

Respect for other religions is his hallmark. Despite being a staunch Hindu practioner he was invited by Rasaiah Paulaseer Laurie to lecture Christians, which he did to a thunderous applause. 

Coming back to google search results.....

When i was expecting to get web pages linked to Kripananda variyaar a lifetime achiever,  I was presented search results entirely relating to  one "Priya Variyaar". Not only that, Las, Google asked me to change the spelling of my search from " Variyaar to Variyar".

All Priya Variyaar did in her entire life until now is to "wink" in one non-descript song.

One may ask " what is the point in 87 years of hard work?" when one wink can overshadow your career.
